UK Lawmakers Argue Over Richard III's Burial Spot

King Richard III and Lady Anne Neville, Queen of England

There seems to be a battle brewing over the final resting place of Richard III, that is if the bones recovered are actually his. One lawmaker wants to put the remains in Nottinghamshire at the priory of Worksop while a colleague from Leicester South want the remains buried at Leicester Cathedral. All of this is being done in the name of money because they both want to use the remains, if Richard III's, for a tourist attraction. I have an idea, why don't they bury King Richard III next to his wife, Anne Neville, in Westminster Abbey.

Of course it seems like I'm the last to know, so y'all may know about the tickets already. But just in case there are some others like me...good tidings have come to us.

Richard Armitage Talks "The Hobbit"

Dark Horizon has an interview with Richard Armitage by Garth Franklin. In it he mentions the Armitage Army and that he can see why Richard has such a loyal following for he describes Richard as having "sharp features, a great head of hair, icy blue eyes and other impressive assets and looks very much a star." I wonder what those could be?

Richard stated that he was as surprised as anyone to get the role of Thorin because he did not pursue it. "It absolutely came to me," he said, "I didn't really-- I knew 'The Hobbit' was being made, but I never would have connected myself  with a dwarf. I figured why would they want a six-foot-two guy to play a dwarf ? " Richard was even had to wear lifts to make sure he would be the tallest dwarf at 5'2". So I guess that means he was my height or maybe a little taller.

He was so apprehensive the first month of shooting 'The Hobbit' that he didn't even unpack his bags the first three weeks and he was so certain that he was going to be put on a plane and sent back home. Poor baby.

What was a surprise for Garth Franklin is that for his size Richard is a demure man. Plus he is soft-spoken and reserved "but in an honest and almost a shy way that makes hm endearing." Yes we fans have always found Richard to be endearing.

And just in case you didn't know, Richard grew his own beard "Once we decided what the beard was going to be like, I realized I could probably grow it myself," he says. "When it comes to the action stuff, and especially water and any kind of battle cry , it [ a fake beard] just starts to lift, and there's much less fuss with this. It looks better, I think."

Anyway that is just a small taste of what is in the Dark Horizon article. It is a good read with the writer commenting on how it was Guy of Gisborne that made him aware of Richard. Richard, himself talks about after his nervousness calmed down how excited he was to shoot because of the scenery on top of a mountain. Plus he seems to have liked having bleeding teeth and blood dripping from his mouth. Oh and there is the "slow motion sprint through the fores which was on fire." Am I the only one thinking 'Baywatch' with that quote? Later on in the same paragraph Richard is being shaken in in a rig but Peter Jackson wanted to push things and so Richard was shaken even harder than before and that is done and they look at the playback and it looks good, but Richard is thinking "Okay, get me back in there and do it again. Shake me harder," he says with an adventurous smile." I'd like to shake his world in more ways than one.

I did the pink so my thoughts would be easier to read and the red quotes are Richard

Lucas vs Adam: The Battle of the Bedtime Story Reading Spies #1

Not only does Richard Armitage and Rupert Penry-Jones share the television show Spooks (MI-5 in the U.S.) and the same birthday, Rupert is a year older, but they also share the privilege of reading at least 5 of the British television show, CBeebies Bedtime Stories. So here is your chance to have Richard read you a bedtime story about dinosaurs and Rupert to read you a bedtime story about a boy and his favorite book. Trying to decide my favorite is hard, so I'm just ready to call it a draw. I'll put a poll on the side so you can vote your favorite story reader or leave a comment on your favorite.

More Merchandising: Thorin Oakenshield Cardboard Cutout

Amazon now has Thorin Oakenshield cardboard cutout. According to the company it is a lifesize cutout, which upon reading that I immediately thought of Richard's actual height, 6'2"or 6'2 1/2". But no it is 59" (4'9") x 25" (2'1"), so naturally that is a bit of a letdown. Oh my Lord, could you imagine an ACTUAL lifesize cutout of Richard? Or a blow up doll of him? Sorry but I just couldn't resist. Now granted the real thing in person would be sooo much better.

Possible New RA Photos Coming

This came to me from RAFrenzy. Someone on twitter has given hints or updates, depending on how you look at it, that there is a photoshoot that is either taking place or has taken place with Richard Armitage and to be on the look out for the December issue of FAULT magazine . So far their Twitter page has no mention of Richard  so that makes me a little shaky on the photoshoot news. I think I'll wait until there is some kind of official word, but if it's true that there is going to be new pictures of Richard, they would make nice Christmas and Hanukkah presents.

Guy the Rock Star

Black leather, dyed black hair and eyeliner. Yes that does sound like a 1980's rocker and even Elvis. But no dear readers it is our own beloved Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisborne. Think about it first example black leather, first up Elvis from his 1968 Comeback Special and that WAS the best that man ever looked ( my mother would be proud) :

Here's Guy in nice tight black leather:

The brown hair dyed black. I must agree with Elvis black hair does show up better screen and besides there is something sexy about black hair:

Now Elvis again:

And then of course the eyeliner

As for the 1980's rocker, and this is just an example, Tommy Lee of Motley Crue, but I think his hair is naturally black and yes he did wear more than just eyeliner, but that was almost every rock star then.

Tommy is the one without a shirt. Heck! Mick Mars was kind of cute then. Of course, there probably wasn't a days total of sobriety among them.

Oh let me not forget the attitude. Now Elvis i don't know about, but Guy and the others had me wanting to do the "I love you to death and I want to take care of you" part to the "I want to put my foot up your A$$, you JERK!" part.

So hopefully I have explained things well enough for you to understand them. If not, enjoy the scenery.

Meet the Two Gary Morris

According to Tom Garner, producer of 'Black Sky', has saidf that the full name of Richard's character is Gary Morris. Now apparently he did not, and not to many others, know that Gary Morris was a country singer back in the 1980's with songs such as"Headed for a Heartache" and "Wind Beneath My Wing" which was one of the earliest hit versions of the song, which was made into an international hit by Bette Midler in 1989. So with that being said, Gary Morris has been resurrected again.

Richard Armitage Fanvid - I Just Want to Make Love to You

Playing around on Youtube and came across this video that is set to "I Just Want to Make Love to You" by Etta James instead of ZZ Top. Of course, thinking about it I don't think the video would have been as sexy, tongue hanging out and drool worthy if the video was set to the ZZ Top version of the song. Enjoy...

Wish I could enlarge the video but I can't.

'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' Banners

If you've read my previous post you know that it took me some time to find these banners. The one of Gollum is enough to give me nightmares, but then he's always made my skin crawl. So, without further ado here are the four 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' banner posters -

'The Hobbit : An Unexpected Journey' Movie Posters

Yes I know I have been lax of late, but please forgive me for I bring peace offerings of some The Hobbit : An Unexpected Journey' movie posters.

This first one is  from Argentina's Cine1. This is the darkest Hobbit poster to date which shows battle -readied Gandalf the Grey (Sir Ian McKellen) and Thorin Oakenshield (our beloved Richard Armitage) with the forest burning, the eagles flying and what could be Mount Doom in Mordor in the background.  This poster comes four days after the release of Hobbit banners were released. Which, by the way, I have been looking for to post but have yet to find.

Thorin looking very fearless there in the center.
