You may have heard that on March 6 there was this little event on Twitter that had Richard answering a few questions. Now one of the questions, from GizGunslinger, was : "Do you like#DepecheMode? I won't believe if not, cause their songs greatly match with your characters#AskThorin".
And Richard's answer was "Richard: Yes. I would like to know which one you think fit his character. Master and servant." To me it can really work good for Guy.
So even though I had never heard of the song and had this piece of information, I did not go to find out any information about it, but a dear Twitter friend, who I will call 'Boots', did and for whatever stupid reason I did not immediately follow her link to the lyrics of Master & Servant. But when I finally did decide to follow the link and read the lyrics, I knew I had to go to Youtube to find the video. When I did find the Master & Servant video that I liked I had the thought of posting it for FanstRAvaganza 4, but forgot about it by the next day and had forgotten about the song until today at lunch. I don't why I remembered Master & Servant at this time but I did and I knew when I got home I would have to start working on a Master & Servant post as soon as I could.
So with Richard as the Master and I/us as his Servant I give to you, Depeche Mode - Master & Servant:

Nice to meet you! I did the same thing when I heard that song mentioned. I wasn't familiar with it (not ever a fan of Depeche Mode)so I had to go to YouTube to listen to it. I can see how the song would bring Thornton to mind.
Wasn't there mention of a lost fanvid to that song? That would be something I would really love to see/listen to. It is heartbreaking to lose some of those great fanvids!
Richard was really naughty with that answer in the tweet session! I know the song (from way back when - probably before you were born???) and it had not quite occurred to me as a soundtrack for Guy. More like a soundtrack for Mr Thornton.
guylty, thank you for thinking I wasn't born when Master & Servant came out, but I was actually about 12 when it did. I'm just not familiar with Depeche Mode songs.
Yeah, some of us (cough) still have this song (and Depeche Mode) on our regular playlists ...
Nothing wrong with that. I have songs form the early 50's to the era I was born that I still enjoy listening to.
