The Hobbit Premiere in New Zealand

On November 28,2012 at the Embassy Theatre in Wellington, New Zealand there will be a close encounter of the Hobbit kind. And hopefully, for RA fans in New Zealand, there will be a close encounter of a certain dwarf kind.

AFI Premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in New York

The American Film Institute has announced that the New York City premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will take place on December 6,2012 at the Ziegfeld Theatre. Wish I could go and afford the $500 single ticket. Just to be able to run into Richard.... Oh Goodness! I'd probably invent new shades of red because I would be blushing so much.

Poster for the Company of Dwarves

The new poster of the dwarves have been making its way through the internet grapevine and has found its way here. Notice how regal and dignified Richard looks. Some of the other dwarves look like they were the prototypes for the dwarves in Walt Disney's 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'.

Richard Armitage Singing Misty Moutains

Courtesy of The Richard Armitage Daily I was directed to this Youtube video of Richard Armitage singing Misty Mountains. It's hard for me to write down Misty Mountains and not put "Hop" after it. I love Led Zeppelin and according to one of the most common interpretations of the song's lyrics  'Misty Mountain Hop' is that they refer to an encounter with the police in a park after smoking marijuana and leave to go to the Misty Mountains, which seems to be a reference to J.R.R. Tolkein.

Anyway here is the video of Richard singing 'Misty Mountains' :

Being Guyed

Dearest Guy,

Oh Guy...Guy...Guy. Darling, what ARE we to do with you? I love you, and maybe pity you a little, inspiring me to want to take care of you, because of the way the Sheriff walks over you, one minute and then in the next you're an obnoxious and mean troll who needs a foot up his butt or Robin thumping you in the face with his bow again. Stop me if you've heard this before, please. Thank you, kindly. Yes, I know it's foolish but really, dear heart, I don't care. So be it.

You may be wondering why I feel for you the way I do. Well, it's not easy to explain for my feelings for you are conflicted, as you probably read in the above paragraph, let me try and explain.

Yes, my love or maybe it's my folly for you, Guy did start out primitive and shallow because of your dark looks and tight garments. But now...I don't know, it's something deeper....maybe...hopefully. Yes I know I called you a mean troll but dear heart, you DO have that tendency, but anyway, at times I seem to be able to sense, oh WHAT is the word... conscience? Vulnerability? Both seem to be apt descriptions for what I sense from you at times. But for what it's worth just as soon as you realize that you are showing your gentler side to me up goes your mask and quickly hides whatever piece of humanity you have in you. But in spite of all your darkness and demons you have Guy, I still love you because I know that deep down in your soul you are fighting them. Yes, I know you will deny it for they have become a security blanket to you. But they are not security the demons and darkness  are, in a sense, slave owners for you let them own and thereby enslaving you and you feel more comfortable doing their biding instead of breaking the shackles that they have let them put upon you and being your own MAN...your own HUMAN BEING.

That my dearest love is why I fight for you and with you and love you.

Your Lady

We Have a Name

I know I haven't done a post yet about Richard's new movie, which undoubtedly you know by now, is called 'Black Sky'. Today I hope to rectify that a little. Earlier this week on some blogs, for me it was Agzy's blog "I Want To Be A Pin Up", it was revealed by the producer of the movie, Todd Garner, that RA's name in the movie is...GARY. REALLY? They couldn't come up with something better? No, I am not a big fan of the name and I'm sure that there are men out there that have the name and are nice. It's just that, for some reason the name 'Gary' makes me feel like fingernails going down a chalkboard. That and when I first heard the name I automatically thought of SpongeBob SquarePants and his pet snail, Gary.

Well, just because I don't like the name that's okay, I just hope "Black Sky" is successful for Richard. and if the fandom for him on the internet is any indication, it will be.

Now some photos from the set for your viewing pleasure.

Has Richard III's Body Been Found?

This is from The Telegraph website and the article has a video with it. I can just give you the link in the  former sentence. Anyway...

'Strong Evidence' Richard III's Body Has Been Found - With a Curved Spine

Archaeologist searching under a city centre car park for the lost grave of King Richard III have discovered human remains.
A stone frieze which may have been from a choir stall discovered during excavation of a car park in Leicester. Experts hope bones unearthed during the dig will turn out to bewthose of Richard III. The Telegraph in Australia

A bit more on the subject from BBC :

" Archaeologists searching for the grave of Richard III have said 'strong circumstantial evidence' points to a skeleton being the lost king.

The English King died in the battle of Bosworth in 1485.

A dig under a council car park in Leicester has found remains with spinal abnormalities and a "cleaved-in  skull" that suggest it could be Richard III.

This one cracks me up, but I kind of get their point. They are, in their minds, honoring Richard III.

Archaeology Team Announces "Huge Step Forward" in King Richard III Search

According to Science Daily , the University of Leicester confirms that they have found the medieval Grey Friars church where King Richard III is buried under a parking lot that was being excavated just over a week ago. At that time two trenches were dug at a council park and this week a third trench was dug. The dig is being filmed for a Channel 4 documentary that is going to come out later this year. It would be nice if the documentary could be shown in America where everyone could see it, because not everyone has BBC America. Are you listening PBS? Sorry just a little personal rant.
